Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold the highest level of UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This role will work across client in Gloucester, Chippenham and Reading with on site commitments.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

We’re continuing to grow, and we’re looking for an experienced Account Director to lead business development within our Secure Infrastructure Services sector, focused on the UK Defence and Intelligence communities.

You’ll join a collaborative and driven team that empowers you to do your best work and grow your career in meaningful ways.

As a senior leader, you’ll play a key role in defining and executing account strategies that drive significant growth. Working alongside our Sub-Sector VP and fellow Directors, you’ll identify, shape, and close major opportunities across consulting, systems integration, and long-term outsourcing services.

Your focus will be on:

  • Leading business development across Defence Digital, Strategic Command, DE&S, Front Line Commands, and Cabinet Office Government Security Group.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, engaging at C-suite level, and aligning CGI’s offerings with evolving client needs.
  • Managing and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering growth and capability in line with market trends.
  • Owning and delivering on revenue and profitability targets, ensuring pipeline accuracy and bid excellence.
  • Acting as Opportunity Pursuit Lead (OPL) on key bids, with hands-on involvement in bid strategy, governance, and commercial agreements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Proven success in selling and delivering Managed Services, Systems Integration, and Consulting into UK Defence and Intelligence sectors.
  • Deep understanding of MOD digital organisations and the broader Defence landscape.
  • A strong network of contacts and a history of securing new business within secure, hybrid, and public cloud environments.
  • Ability to develop and execute long-term growth strategies and manage complex, high-value deals.
  • Experience with bid and sales methodologies (e.g., BEMF, Shipley), and a track record of winning competitive tenders.

  • Strategic sales and account management
  • Stakeholder engagement at senior levels
  • Pipeline development and opportunity qualification
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Experience delivering digital solutions in secure environments

Desirable:

  • Secure infrastructure and cloud expertise
  • Cyber security, DevSecOps, data analytics, or open-source technologies
  • IT service management (ITSM/ITIL)
  • Higher-level security clearance or willingness to obtain
  • Excellent negotiation and bid leadership skills
